Having attractive product pages on your Shopify store means covering all bases to secure whopping sales figures. Of course, putting USPs (unique selling points) under the spotlight is good, but the overall sales growth will improve only when genuine customer reviews back your product pages.

This tutorial will guide you on using renowned review applications available on the Shopify App Store with AfterShip Page Builder to secure your business’s bottom line.

AfterShip Reviews

AfterShip Reviews is a product review tool that automates timely review collection for your online store.

If you use AfterShip Review’s review and star widget to display customer reviews on your product pages, here’s how to show them on the product pages created via AfterShip Page Builder.

Pre-built template

Go to Pages > Product pages in the AfterShip Page Builder admin
Give your existing Shopify product pages a new layout by selecting one of the pre-built templates
Click Create new page and select a Template



Once the template is selected, a page editor will open

Under Assign product settings, select where you want to assign this layout to All products or Specific products



On the preview page, if you see the Theme default product section, click Go back and select a different product detail section from the list

You will see the pre-built section automatically transitioning to your store theme and picking up product details from your store.



To insert the AfterShip Review widget to your product pages,
Click Add section of the section after which you would like to place the review widget and select Add a blank section this time



Click + Add elements and then select Custom code





Click Open code editor



A black screen will open. Copy and paste the below code there.

Building page from scratch

Go to Pages > Product pages in the AfterShip Page Builder admin
Click Create new page > Start with a blank page



The page editor will open
Under Assign product settings, select where you want to assign this layout to All products or Specific products

On the preview page, click on Add section and start creating the layout of your product pages using the various design sections and elements with fully-customizable properties



To insert the AfterShip Review widget to your product pages,

a. Click Add section of the section after which you would like to place the review widget and select Add a blank section this time

b. Click + Add elements and then select Custom code

c. Click Open code editor. A black screen will open. Copy and paste the below code there.

Key information

Part of AfterShip Page Builder’s pre-built templates still uses Shopify Theme’s default sections, and the product list section is one of them. Shopify Theme settings are prioritized over custom codes. For custom code to take prevalence and, in this case, review widgets to display, it is required for the product list section to be created in AfterShip Page builder.

The reason why when using pre-built templates, it is required to replace the existing product detail section (if the template is using Shopify Theme) with the one from AfterShip Page Builder.

How to know if you are using a default Shopify Theme section?

A. If you have selected a section using the default Shopify Theme, a message will appear on the left panel in a blue box, recommending you choose a section you can edit in AfterShip Page Builder.



B. While selecting a section from the pre-built list, you will see an alert telling you that the section you are about to add will show your store's default product page and can only be added once.
