How to Uninstall AfterShip Page Builder Like a Pro?
Overview
Meeting the expectations of all customers has never been practically possible because one’s requested feature may be useless for others. Thus, companies always face the challenge of customer defection. And AfterShip Page Builder is no different!
AfterShip Page Builder not only helps to make Shopify pages visually-appealing but also enables its users to add those elements that increase sales, subscriber count, etc.
However, if you have made your mind to delete the AfterShip Page Builder app, follow the given steps carefully.
Step 1: Unpublish and delete all pages
Note that regular pages and blog posts will disappear from your Shopify store as soon as you delete the AfterShip Page Builder, whereas product pages, collection pages, and home pages will be restored to their original version.
Login to your AfterShip Page Builder account and start unpublishing your pages
Once the page gets unpublished, choose the ‘Delete’ option after clicking on the three horizontal dots
Step 2: Uninstall AfterShip Page Builder app
After deleting all your created pages, visit the ‘Apps’ section of your Shopify account and look for AfterShip Page Builder.
Bear in mind that the AfterShip Page Builder App will not be able to access your store via Shopify API after being uninstalled. Plus, resources like script tags will be automatically removed by Shopify, and that’s why making changes later on is not possible. So, make sure you unpublish and delete all the pages as explained in step 1.
In case you are thinking to use AfterShip Page Builder in the near future, it is highly advisable to only unpublish your created pages. So, don’t delete any page and uninstall the AfterShip Page Builder app, as this will enable you to use your created pages again.
👨💻 Step 3 (optional): Clean up the source code
In case you have decided to uninstall AfterShip Page Builder once and for all, clean up the source code. Here are the steps:
First, go to your Shopify store’s theme settings > Click on ‘Actions’ and choose the ‘Edit code’ option from its dropdown menu
Type ‘automizely’ in the search box to see how many liquid files are available. If there are any results, start deleting the found files by clicking on the ‘Delete file’ button
Now, search for product.liquid, collection.liquid, and index.liquid and then click on the ‘Older versions’ to choose ‘Original’ option from the dropdown menu. It will help you restore the original content
In case you want to get back to that specific version which you were using right before installing the AfterShip Page Builder app, search for the backup liquid files. Let’s say, you want to restore for the collection page, enter collection.automizely.backup.liquid in the search box and copy its content to paste into collection.liquid file.
Note: This step is necessary only if you are using Shopify theme 1.0.
